We are looking for a bright, mission-oriented individual to join the growing Product team in our New York office as a Market Buyer. You’ll be adding your own passion and expertise to a team with an unparalleled knowledge of fruits, vegetables, and specialty produce - united in its commitment to building a new supply chain.
Collectively, we have spent over fifteen years building our own supply chain, uniting over 600 growers and producers across Europe, the US and Australia. You will take on a fundamental role in the purchasing process, ensuring its ongoing efficiency and success. Thinking outside the box, you will reduce non-conformities and read deep into our live data to increase availability across the range.
You’ll be an excellent communicator, bringing a dynamic energy to our tight knit team. You’ll be confident in juggling several projects at once and thrive when no two days are the same.
Willing to create solutions and always looking to go beyond what you already know. Most importantly, you’ll be driven by a genuine commitment to changing the way food is being farmed & supplied.
Your hours of work will be from 7:30 am until 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Manage our purchases at the Hunts Point Produce Market, driving from our warehouse in Bushwick to the Bronx
- Ensure that the correct stock pars are maintained based on sales data and projections
- Maintaining and nurturing mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers
- Report on KPIs using company metrics
- Work with the seasons, properly communicating with internal and external stakeholders as products come in and out of season
- Airport pick ups on certain days
ABOUT YOU
- A passion for bettering the food system
- Keen attention to detail and excellent communication & planning skills
- Ability to hit the ground running - you will enjoy working autonomously as well as part of a tight-knit team
- Experience with fruits & vegetables, and knowledge of seasonality is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets is required
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to drive small trucks
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Salary: 63 - 70K
