Diaspora Co. work tirelessly to source high quality, single-origin spices that don’t compromise on fairness or flavour.

Across India and Sri Lanka, they work with growers committed to regenerative farming methods and preserving heirloom varieties – all of which has a huge impact on taste.

Since 2017, they have built a cult following based around truly exceptional, genuinely equitable spices – and home cooks and chefs alike can now buy their products in the UK, exclusively via Natoora.

Diaspora strive to ensure that all of their producers are paid a living wage, and led by Sana Javeri Kadri, they are on the ground sourcing spices from dedicated independent growers. These include the Chacko family – who have domesticated a variety of wild Cardamom that thrives without pesticides on their “wild food estate” in Kerala – and Parameswaran, whose Aranya Black Pepper is the product of 35 years of work.

Like us, Diaspora know that the key to ultimate flavour is low-intervention methods and working alongside the natural rhythms of the land.

We look for farm partners who are value aligned: they genuinely believe in taking care of the soil in a very deep way. They all find seed varieties that are either from their ancestors, or they go and hunt down seed varieties that are full of flavour and aroma. Then they develop them for us.
