Diaspora Trio 01

Led by Sana Javeri Kadri, Diaspora have been sourcing spices on the ground in Sri Lanka and India since 2017. They work specifically with independent growers committed to preserving heirloom varieties, and meticulously look for the finest examples of every spice. Harvests are packed at their peak, in order to lock in intense and memorable flavour.

Aranya Black Pepper is an everyday seasoning which adds complexity and depth to all dishes. It was one of nine black peppers that Diaspora tasted during their sourcing process and was selected for its rich depth.

Pragati Turmeric – Diaspora’s calling card – is an elevation of the expected flavour of this much-loved spice, thanks to a biodiverse growing environment and regenerative methods.

Guntur Sannam Chilli sees versatile heirloom chillis from Andhra Pradesh ground with sesame oil and rock soil, to bring out smokiness and tomato notes.

Aranya Black Pepper

The Parameswaran family’s Aranya pepper, grown using 10 varieties of indigenous, heirloom and wild seed, is vine-ripened and hand-harvested on their farm in Thirunelly, Kerala. They have been growing pepper on the farm for 35 years, and this experience and dedication shows in both a well-honed process and phenomenal flavour. Of the peppers that Diaspora tasted when they began sourcing Black Pepper, the Parameswarans’ were far and away the most complex, with a lingering heat.

Guntur Sannam Chilli

Hanumantharao and Satyanarayana Rao grow their Guntur Sannam chillis on the Narne family farm, in accordance with the Zero Budget Natural Farming ethos developed locally in Andhra Pradesh. This requires a commitment to refuse chemical fertilisers and pesticides. The best is brought out of these heirloom chillis after harvest, when they are ground with sesame oil and rock soil.

We exist to fix the food system.

People are more cut off from the origins of their food than ever. This makes flavour, nutrition and farming practices that protect the planet, almost impossible to find.

By working directly with growers, we create a more sustainable way forward for farming. By giving everyone the tools to understand the power of our food choices, we empower everybody to become drivers of change.

Now is the time for action. Join the food system revolution.
